General Policy Exclusions


  • Pre existing faults at the time of taking out your policy, including system design faults or inaccessible components.
  • Faults caused by the failure of gas, water or electrical services or consumer negligence.
  • Any faults caused by sludge, scale or blockages
  • Mains pressure and gravity hot water tanks and related parts
  • Underfloor heating
  • Water/gas main and lines.
  • Electrics
  • Inaccessible pipework and fittings
  • Showers, concealed cisterns and taps
  • White goods, cookers, hobs and ovens


Questions & Answers


When does my cover start?


Your policy starts on the day your application is accepted. However, there is an initial 30 day period in which you cannot make a claim. This is to prevent pre-existing problems and to keep our prices to customers low.


What are your response times?


In the event of an emergency (uncontrolled gas or water leak) we aim to have someone with you same day. For other faults, we will do our best to have an engineer with you same day if reported before 10am or within 24hours (weekday) of your call.


When will my boiler be serviced?


All new customers taking out a boiler cover option will recieve a boiler service within the first 30 days from the start of the cover being taken out.


When will my gas safety and legionella risk assessment be carried out?


If we are provided with the tenants phone number and expiry of current gas safety certificate and legionella risk assessment we will ensure it’s carried out 2-3 weeks before it expires.


If you provide us with the tenants contact details, we will arrange access direct with the tenants.



Am I tied into a contract?


The contract is for 12 months.


What locations do you cover?


We cover South Wales only.


What type of properties do you cover?


We cover houses, flats and small businesses.


Do you provide landlord cover?


Yes all boiler cover options are for either rental properties or households which include an annual gas safety certificate, boiler service and legionella risk assessment.


Do you employ your own engineers?


Yes Thompson Services employs its own gas safe registered engineers to ensure quality tradesmen are delivered to your property.


Where are you based?


We are a South Wales based company and have an office based on Miskin Street, Cathays, Cardiff.


What appointment times will I get for call outs and servicing?


We give customers morning or afternoon appointments, but our engineers ring on route.



Will you deal direct with the tenant?


Yes if the tenant wants to report issues, that is fine! all they need to do is provide the address of the property and explain the issues they are experiencing.


How do i report a fault?


The easiest way to report a fault it to email in, all you need to do is provide us with your name, address and just a brief message explaining the issues you are experiencing.
